Goals developed from research include fewer prerequisites, compressed courses, interdisciplinary curriculum, stackable certificates, compressed time to graduation, connectedness to program, and faculty incentive.

MBA Bootcamp (MBA 800)

Term 1, Certificate 1: Foundations of Business Thought

  • MBA 815: Design Thinking Workshop (will meet on a weekend)
FIRST HALF OF TERM
  • MBA 811: Technical Communication (business research, formal writing, formal presentation)
  • MBA 812: Quantitative Thinking (economics, statistics, quantitative computer applications, e.g. Excel)
SECOND HALF OF TERM
  • MBA 813: Interactive Communication (persuasion, il?fl.uence, selling, business etiquette)
  • MBA 814: Design Thinking (design thinking, creativity, problem solving, decision processes)

Term 2 - Certificate 2: Technical Skills of Financial and People Management

  • MBA 825: Design Thinking Workshop (will meet on a weekend)
FIRST  HALF OF TERM
  • MBA 821: Accounting (financial statement analysis, costing, budgeting, corporate social responsibility, internal control)
  • MBA 822: Human Resources (human resources: recruitment, selection, training. development, performance management, compensation)
SECOND HALF OF TERM
  • MBA 823: Finance (capital budgeting, dividend analysis, capital structure, cash and liquidity management, financial forecasting)
  • MBA 824: Organizational Behavior (culture, group dynamics, social management, motivation, negotiation)

Term 3 - Certificate 3: Transformation of lnputs to Outputs

  • MBA 825: Design Thinking Workshop (will meet on a weekend)
FIRST HALF OF TERM
  • MBA 831: Creative and Entrepreneurial Ventures (business planning, business re branding, corporate entrepreneurship)
  • MBA 832: Supply Chain and Logistics (design and management of an effective supply chain, develop and assess logistics strategy)
SECOND HALF OF TERM
  • MBA 833: Marketing (marketing problem definition/analysis, market segmentation and targeting, marketing mix strategy)
  • MBA 834: Risk Consideration and Assessment (culture, practices, strategy for analysis and management of uncertainty, associated risk and opportunity)

Term 4 - Completion of MBA Degree

  • MBA 825: Design Thinking Workshop (will meet on a weekend)
ALL TERM
  • Elective (graduate level relevant elective that complements student’s career goals or enhances student’s background; examples include AGR 850, Agriculture Policy; AEM 804, Project management; MPH 816, Public Health Organization and Administration; and PHE 814, Sports Marketing, Promotions, and Fund Raising; advisor approval required)
FIRST HALF OF TERM
  • MBA 841: Leadership Capstone (case-based application of KSAs developed throughout the program)
SECOND HALF OF TERM
  • MBA 842: Impact Capstone (action-based [i.e. company, regional, international] application of KSAs developed throughout program.
